Loosely inspired by Vera Brittain’s poem Perhaps, “Perhaps the summer woods will shimmer bright, and crimson roses once again be fair… although you are not there”  the design reflects on love, loss and the persistence of hope. The circular arrangement of embroidered roses evokes continuity and return, reimagined as a contemporary textile.

An original artwork by Chantal Sneddon Creative, the design draws on First World War silk postcards and commemorative motifs, created from selected elements of a postcard held in the Anzac Memorial Collection.
